The Essentials, Part 2-04: Arthritis


This interactive course is designed to provide the novice hand therapist to the more experienced hand therapist knowledge about the anatomical structures affected by, the pathological processes involved, and management of arthritis.

Teaching methods for this course include course content delivered in text format, animation, graphics, and live web links.  To pass the course learners must successfully complete the final exam at the end of the course with a minimum passing score of 80%.

Upon completion of this course, the Learner will be able to:

  • Describe the pathological processes of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

  • Describe clinical tests and examinations used to evaluate patients with arthritis.

  • Identify surgical procedures used for management of arthritis.

  • Develop treatment programs for patients with arthritis.
