The Essentials, Part 2-03: Tendons: Injuries and Intervention


This interactive course is designed to provide the novice hand therapist to the more experienced hand therapist knowledge about the anatomical structures affected by, the pathological processes involved, and management of tendon injuries.

Teaching methods for this course include course content delivered in text format, animation, graphics, and live web links.  To pass the course learners must successfully complete the final exam at the end of the course with a minimum passing score of 80%.

Upon completion of this course, the Learner will be able to:

  • Describe the anatomy and physiology of tendons.

  • Describe and differentiate the various programs and protocols for flexor tendon injuries and extensor tendon injuries.

  • Develop treatment plan for patient with a tendon injury.
